Alfaguara is the label specialised in publishing works of fiction. Thanks to a back catalogue of thousands of publications, numerous best-sellers and the most prestigious authors, Alfaguara is, for many Spanish-language readers, synonymous with quality and a guarantee of good literature.
Since 1998, Alfaguara has sponsored the Alfaguara Literary Award. It is one of the most prestigious literary awards to be given to a previously unpublished Spanish-language novel and the award is well-known and respected worldwide. Prize-winning novels are published simultaneously in Spain and throughout Latin America.

Publishing activity in the area of fiction aimed at children and teenagers Alfaguara Infantil y Juvenil is based on two basic premises: the literary quality of the publications and the service provided to users. Editora Objetiva is a publishing house set up in Rio de Janeiro in the 1990s with a wide number of goals. Since the very beginning the house has published a wide variety of genres, including biography, fiction, history, politics, essay from renowned authors.
