Sogecable Spain's biggest audiovisual group and is leader in the pay television sector in Spain. It is the third largest in Europe and a pioneer in introducing high-definition and interactive services in the Spanish media market.

Created in 1989, Sogecable has ample experience in the audiovisual industry, from acquisition and management of audiovisual rights, to production, distribution, marketing and subscriber management. Sogecable also participates in film production, distribution and screening. The company also manages advertising for all its outlets through Sogecable Media.

Sogecable broadcasts three channels through Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT): general interest station Cuatro; news channel CNN+ and the music channel 40 Latino.

DIGITAL+

DIGITAL+ is the leading pay-TV operator in the Spanish market. Its broad and varied offer of entertainment and information, always at the forefront of content and technology, has seen significant growth and development over 2009, with the addition of HD and 3D broadcast.

With a potential audience of over 6.5 million viewers, Digital + includes more than 150 programming channels and services available through set-top decoder boxes, including the iPlus, a next-generation device with the industry's most advanced technology that allows HD signal capture and recording of over 80 hours of programming.

Major feature film premiers and spectacular, exclusive sports broadcasts make the digital platform DIGITAL+ audience leader in Spain, with over 850,000 subscribers at the end of 2009. It offers 13 channels, most them belonging to the Canal+ stable, as well as content from the most prestigious producers in the world such as Fox, MTV, Sony and National Geographic.

Canal+ and themed channels

Launched in September 1990, Canal+ has celebrated twenty years on air as Digital +'s audience-share leader and is a benchmark for quality pay television in Spain. Canal + has significantly improved its range of sports and entertainment programs over the last two years and offers virtually all its channels in HD. Since June 2010 Digital +'s premium channel has also been marketed through the pay-TV platform TeleCable.

Meanwhile, the channel also produces a number of themed channels, which as well as being available through DIGITAL+, are also sold on to other cable operators. Examples include CNN+, DCine Español, Sportmanía, Viajar, 40TV, 40 Latino y Caza y Pesca.
