
Grupo PRISA plays a very important role of recognition, promotion and encouragement in the areas of literary creation, the media, film and music. It carries out this role through three of the most prestigious awards presented in Spain: the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Awards, Alfaguara Novel Award and Ondas Awards, with a long history in Spanish radio.
The Ortega y Gasset awards, created in 1984 by the newspaper EL PAÍS,
is one of the most important award to spanish press worldwide.
The Ondas Awards, created in 1953, are the first television and radio awards established in Spain, were created by Radio Barcelona (Cadena SER).
The Alfaguara Prize for Novels was first given in 1998. It is one of the most underlining literary awards to an unknown work in Spanish.
