Promoting Culture and Art

Grupo PRISA plays a very important role of recognition, promotion and encouragement in the areas of literary creation, the media, film and music. It carries out this role through three of the most prestigious awards presented in Spain: the Ortega y Gasset Journalism Awards, Alfaguara Novel Award and Ondas Awards, with a long history in Spanish radio.

The Alfaguara Prize for Novels was first given in 1998. It is one of the most underlining literary awards to an unknown work in Spanish.

Fundación Santillana Foundation Santillana
Santillana Foundation, created in 1979 on an initiative of the Chairman of Grupo PRISA, Jesús de Polanco, is a private foundation aiming to foster teaching and cultural promotion, with a particular interest in foste-ring the cooperation and strengthening of the cultural bonds between Spain and Latin America.
