IGNACIO POLANCO

Ignacio Polanco is the Chairman of PRISA, as well as of Timón S.A. and Promotora de Publicaciones S.L., companies that hold majority shares in PRISA.

Graduate in economics by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and MBA by the Instituto de Empresa, his professional career was developed in Timón and Promotora de Informaciones S.A.. He was a board member of Santillana Ediciones until 2000, and commencing in June of that same year he assumed the post of Deputy Chairman of PRISA. In November 2006 he was appointed Vice President and occupied that post until he was assigned Chairman of PRISA in July 2007.

Within PRISA, Ignacio Polanco is the Chairman of Diario EL PAÍS, Unión Radio, Sociedad Española de Radiodifusión and Santillana Foundation. He also sits on the Board of Sogecable.
