  The Fundación Santillana, in collaboration with the Fundación Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey  (Monterrey Institute of Technology), will host next July 26, 27 and 28, a seminar and multimedia event titled Narrative and Journalism. The seminar is an educational initiative aimed at students and professionals wishing to further their studies and hone their skills.
  
  The news story has an increasingly important role to play in how we construct narratives of world events. So can literary journalism save newspapers? Is literary journalism viable online? What are the main tools used by top literary writers of the world? What elements of literary narrative can a reporter employ to write a report? These and other issues will be addressed at the Narrative and Journalism seminar, which will analyze the narrative and literary techniques that allow us to improve how we tell a real, current story.
  
  The classroom version of the virtual seminar will open in Santander, as part of the UIMP Summer School, with the participation of Ignacio Polanco, President of PRISA, and Juan Luis Cebrian, PRISA CEO and Chairman of the group's Executive Committee. Seven speakers (journalists, writers, media managers) will give a lecture, which will be broadcast live over the Internet via www.elpais.com, www.uimp20.es, www.fundacionsantillana.com  and www.elboomeran.com.
  
  All lectures will be subsequently available to users via the seminar's page www.narrativayperiodismo.com/ (coming soon).
