At Santillana, for example, collaborators provide support in content development and sales management; at PRISA Noticias, collaborators are active in the newsroom, in translation, web development, photography and illustration. Meanwhile, the broad geographic scope of our company means that the Group’s companies believe in strict respect for the basic labor rights as recognized by the International Labor Organization, especially in issues related to equality and non-discrimination on the basis of sex, ideology or beliefs. The Group also complies with the labor laws and collective agreements of the country in which each company operates. In each of these countries, the initial starting salary for new workers at PRISA exceeds the local minimum wage. We also encourage not only the hiring but also the promotion of locally sourced managers so that all countries where we operate boast a high percentage of local team leaders and managers. All our staff, except for senior management, are subject to collective labor agreements in each of their companies. Above and beyond these collective labor agreements, the Group’s companies substantially improve conditions and thus provide our professionals with an attractive and competitive working environ
