Cadena Dial and Ayuda en Acción launch a chain of virtual applause to promote the Rights of Women worldwide

30-10-2012

Cadena Dial, the most popular music radio station in Spain among women, has made a firm commitment to the initiative, all too aware that there is no country in the world where women and men enjoy equal rights and opportunities. That’s why the radio network is teaming up for this latest campaign with Ayuda en Acción, an NGO that has been fighting against inequality in the world for over 30 years.

Aplausosencadena.com aims to create a chain of virtual applause among men and women committed to the cause. Taking part couldn’t be easier: via Facebook, Twitter, by SMS or by recording a video, you can join the chain, defend the rights of women and improve millions of lives around the world.

Adding the first links to the chain are popular figures from the world of sport, culture and the media including the Atletico Madrid soccer player Radamel Falcao, the conductor Inma Shara, actors Nicolas Coronado (Tierra de Lobos) and Juanjo Artero (El Barco); Pepa Bueno (director of Hoy por Hoy / Cadena SER) Chenoa (singer) and Raquel Martos (writer). They’re joined by the Cadena Dial team that includes Frank Blanco, Rafa Cano, MJ Aledón, Maria Lama, Isidro Montalvo, Beatriz Jarrín and Carmen Ramirez.

A number of initiatives have been planned to inform and raise awareness of the issue. The campaign, which began on October 26 during the Cadena Dial concert Lo mejor de aquí y de allí (The best from here and there) will end on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
