Cinco Dias launches its most powerful iPhone application yet

25-09-2009

Users of iPhone, Apple's mobile phone device, can now avail of the new version of the native application for CincoDias.com, which provides even more in-depth financial and economic news in Spanish. CincoDias.com was the first Spanish business and finance daily to provide native applications for the iPhone and has now rollled out its latest app before any of its rivals have even developed a first version.

The new update, now available at the App store, under the category Finance, offers more content, with all the latest lead stories from the markets, including stock and share values.

It also allows users to share each news item via email, Facebook and Twitter and continues to offer its unrivaled video content. National and international market news is offered in a detailed and comprehensive fashion with added and enhanced graphics illustrating stock market information -enabling users to consult data over different time periods. Graphics are displayed in full-screen format, simply by rotating the iPhone device.

Also new is the option to personalize investment portfolios. The section MiCartera (My Portfolio) allows users to save, in one place, all the information available about their selected investments, making any future consultations quick and convenient.

Users already availing of CincoDias.com on their iPhone who wish to update to the new version can access the update section at the App Store. In order to download the app for the first time, they should merely go to the Finance category at App Store or at iTunes. Both options are free.

The application has been created by Prisacom, Grupo Prisa's company dedicated to digital development. The launch represents "yet another step towards a wider presence for our media group on mobile phone platforms," said Jorge Chamizo, director of CincoDias.com, "a situation that will be further enhanced in the next few weeks with the launch of a multi-platform WAP portal." Chus del Rio, head of Products and Innovation at Prisacom, said that the latest CincoDias.com app "is a response to our understanding of the need our users have to easily access all our constantly updated content, any where, at any time and through any platform."
