PRISA reorganizes its operations in the Spanish and Portuguese magazine sectors

29-07-2009

PRISA has embarked on a reorganization in its magazine sector aimed at optimizing resources and achieving a more efficient management of its leading titles in Spain and Portugal. The management of the two separate companies is to be integrated into a single, new company, PROGRESA-MEDIA CAPITAL EDIÇÕES, which inherits an extremely competitive position in both the Spanish and Portuguese markets thanks to a portfolio of widely diverse products with broad appeal.

Amid a significant advertising slump, the decision to specialize in certain niches such as men's lifestyle (Gentleman, Rolling Stone, Maxmen), women (Lux and Lux Woman) wine ( (Revista de Vinhos, Anuario del Vino) and high-end cars (Car), along with the Group's corporate publications, facilitates the concentration of operations in the market sectors with the greatest potential for growth and the best outlook for marketing.

PROGRESA-MEDIA CAPITAL EDIÇÕES is thus committed to offering readers quality content, to guaranteeing advertisers the best outlet for promoting their products and to developing new projects, all from a sound and profitable economic base.

Angel García Colín will head PROGRESA-MEDIA CAPITAL EDIÇÕES  as director general and has wide and varied management experience in the media sector. He holds a doctorate from the  Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a degree in Journalism and Advertising from the Universidad del País Vasco. He previously worked in the communication departments at Editorial Católica and Prensa Española, before joining PRISA in 1992 where has held a number of different posts.
