PRISA sets up a Transversal Business Unit

PRISA has set up a transversal business unit which will facilitate the explotation of its business activities worldwide and which will enable the development of new technologies based on the existing products and capabilities of the Group's different business lines.

Heading the new division is Ignacio Quintana, who has been named director general and who will report to Manuel Polanco, director general of PRISA's business division. Also joining the new unit are Silvia Reig, director general of PRISA Innova, and José Manuel Gómez Bravo, director of intellectual property at the Group. He will be managing all business related to intellectual property rights.

The new unit will be responsible for the exploitation of the Group's different brands with a view to developing and coordinating new projects, and will integrate the activities of PRISA Innova, the company specialized in the creation and development of special promotions for the media.

Ignacio Quintana has a degree in Economic Science and Business from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is a certified chartered accountant.

He worked as an auditor at KPMG between 1985 and 1989, and then joined PRISA as finance director at the business and finance daily Cinco Días. In 1995 he was appointed director general of Progresa, the Group's magazine division. In 1999 he became director general of Cinco Días.

In 2002 he became director general of GDM and in 2006 he was appointed director general of the new business unit at Unión Radio, a post which he still holds.
