SER kicks off the Olympic Games with marathon programming

Cadena SER kicks off its special programming for the London Olympics on Thursday July 26 with Spain’s football match against Japan. Carrusel Deportivo Olímpico, with Manu Carreño and Jose Antonio Ponseti at the helm, will be broadcasting the match at 3pm.

Carreño and Ponseti will also be bringing listeners all the coverage of the Opening Ceremony of London 2012, which will air in the 8 countries where PRISA Radio broadcasts.

 SER’s sports coverage team is being led by Laura Martinez, and she’ll be joined by Manu Carreño, José Antonio Ponseti, José Luis López, Francisco José Delgado, Antonio Romero, Jesús Gallego, David Alonso, Dani Garrido, Aitor Gómez, Iñigo Markínez, José Ignacio Tornadijo, Xavier Saisó, Augusto Molina, Roberto García, Juan Luís Iglesias and Carlos Díaz, all of whom are in London to cover all the action. Other professionals, such as Maria Bretones, will be coordinating with journalists and technicians on the ground.

 

Cadena SER will also be joined by wide range of star sportsmen and women who’ll be following Team España in various sports: Fermín Cacho and Maite Zúñiga (athletics), Francisco Miguel Narváez 'Kiko' and Julio Maldonado 'Maldini' (football) Joan Plaza, Alex Mumbrú, Antoni Daimiel and Nino Buscató (basketball), Pedro Delgado, Jose Antonio Gonzalez Linares and Anselmo Fuerte (cycling) Rafa Muñoz and Irina Rodriguez (swimming), Jordi Sans (water polo), Xavi Ribas (hockey) Carlos Perez (canoeing), Ivan Raña (triathlon), Rubén Montesinos (taekwondo), Virginia Ruano (tennis) and David Barrufet (handball).

 

SER’s marathon Olympic coverage, 24 hours a day

 From Monday to Friday, radio program Hoy por Hoy  will be giving over a slot exclusively to all the latest news from the Olympics. Manu Carreño will be hosting SER Olímpicos, daily from 3.05pm to 4pm, which will put the spotlight on Spanish athletes. La Ventana  will be looking at the Olympic Games from a more social and laid-back perspective. There’ll be more coverage of the Spanish team on Carrusel Olímpico diario daily from 8.30pm to 9.00pm, presented by Manu Carreño and José Antonio Ponseti. And El Larguero will review all the day’s events. Carrusel Mundial en Londres, from 5am to 6am, which also will air in the 8 countries where PRISA Radio operates, will be presented by the Chilean Mauro Smith and co-presented by José A. Ponseti and will chronicle the daily news from the Olympics with a special focus on the countries in the PRISA Radio network. SER will be  interrupting their regular programming Monday through Friday to broadcast the biggest events as they happen on Carrusel Deportivo Olímpico.

 At the weekends, A vivir que son dos días  will look at the week’s highlights, and on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Carrusel Deportivo Olímpico will take over with all the latest Olympic news.
