Sylvia Bigio, a dual Peruvian-US citizen, is an expert analyst and Portfolio Manager specializing in Latin American companies and finance. Since 2012, she has worked at the New York office of Itaú Asset Management, one of the largest asset managers in Latin America, serving as Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst for the firm’s Latin American offshore equity funds.

Sylvia has spent much of her wide-ranging professional career in New York, working with major financial firms such as Goldman Sachs, The Rohatyn Group, and Itaú Asset Management. At Goldman Sachs, where she worked from 1997 to 2004, she began in the Investment Banking Division’s Latin America Group before moving to Global Investment Research, where she covered financial institutions.

Sylvia holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service (with honors, Organization of American States Fellowship) from Georgetown University, where she also earned the International Business Diplomacy Honors Certificate. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Maryland at College Park, graduating magna cum laude and earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa and other honor societies.

Beyond her professional work, Sylvia is a founding member and former Board Member of Help Peru, a New York–based NGO established in 2013. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has working knowledge of Portuguese.
