PRISA entra en el Comité Ejecutivo de la Red Española del Pacto Mundial

The AGM of the Global Compact Network Spain, held on June 9, saw the renewal of a half of the organization’s Steering Committee, with PRISA being among those chosen to join the governing body, alongside other companies and institutions such as Endesa, Accenture and Ecodes.

PRISA has been collaborating with the Global Compact since 2008, through its membership of the Spanish Network, and has thus signaled its commitment to aligning its strategic development with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, the environment and anti-corruption, as promoted by the UN. And year after year, the Group has improved its performance and exacting standards in terms of CSR and annual reporting.

We have also promoted a range of projects and initiatives in close collaboration with the Spanish Network – either projects organized by the network itself or activities designed in partnership, such as debates on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or the Summit on Climate Change. From its new position on the Steering Committee, PRISA will be able to participate more actively in decision-making and in the  implementation of initiatives, strategy and the development of policies and programs that have been approved by the AGM, as well as with regards to agreements, rules and the accounts of the institution. We thus hope to contribute even more to the Global Compact worldwide and to continue to meet the goals we have set ourselves in developing and forging ahead in CSR.

The United Nations Global Compact operates in Spain through the Spanish Network, managed and represented by the Steering Committee, and the network currently has 2,600 member institutions (12% large companies, 72% SMEs and 16% third sector organizations, trade unions / business associations and educational institutions). It is the largest and most important network in the world in terms of the number of signatories and partners, making it the effective leader of the movement of local networks globally and enabling it to report directly to United Nations.
