21-12-2015

The third edition of the Festival brought together 800 primary and secondary school students, who enjoyed a unique work of theater for children and young people, El barrio de las letras, by theater company Cuarta Pared, and with stellar performances by authors such as Jordi Sierra i Fabra, Joan Manuel Gisbert, Maria Isabel Molina, Violeta Monreal, Rafael Ordóñez, Gemma Pasqual i Escrivà, and Sofia Rhei.

“Authors with teachers” was the title of the panel discussion held for teachers, and was open to the public and attended by all the authors participating in the program. Together they discussed the specific challenges of writing in this genre, as experienced by each author, their points of reference and advice for young readers and budding writers.

The Ibero-American Festival of Children's and Youth Literature, organized by the Santillana Foundation, together with the Miguel de Cervantes Virtual Library Foundation and the Vargas Llosa Chair, and with the collaboration of Santillana, the Reina Sofia Museum, the Eugenio Trias Library, the Ministry of education, Culture and Sports and the Plan of Promotion of Reading, aims to honor excellence in the field of children's literature, support the work of the sector and pay tribute to the best works.
