SANTILLANA, the ATRESMEDIA Foundation and SAMSUNG have teamed up to host Grandes Profes! 2019, the successful annual event that pays tribute to teachers. This 6th edition will focus on talent, which though sometimes innate, can also be nurtured through practice and training. The Valencian International University (VIU) has partnered with the organizers once again this year to lend its support to this event aimed especially at teachers.
This year’s event, which will be held on January 26, will bring together leading professionals from academic, scientific, literary, gastronomic and artistic fields to put all their knowledge at the service of teachers, thereby supporting and honoring their endeavors, as well as their day-to-day work in the classroom. Iñaki López and Andrea Ropero, presenters of laSexta Noche, laSexta's current affairs and political debate program, will act as masters of ceremonies.
A wide range of outstanding speakers are due to address the event and share their experiences with the attendees, including Ramón López de Mántaras, an academic and researcher known for his pioneering work in Artificial Intelligence in Spain; the professor and paleontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga; Álvaro Morte, theater director and star of the TV series La casa de papel (Money Heist); the Maldita Nerea musician and vocalist Jorge Ruiz; the two-times Michelin-star chef Ramón Freixa; the economist and writer Álex Rovira; and dance troupe Los Vivancos.
All will be sharing tips that will inspire teachers in their work with students, at a time of enormous change in the world of education.

This year, Los Vivancos will bring the event to a sensational and rousing finale. In addition to performing on the Grandes Profes! 2019 stage, they’ll also be explain how they harness their collective talent.
This year’s program also includes a panel debate, moderated by the writer and professor of Sociology Mariano Fernández Enguita, and which will look at the skills required for the 21st century and how these may be deployed to awaken the different talents of students. Participants will include primary teacher and Global Teacher Prize 2018 finalist Xuxo Ruiz; the expert in innovation, leadership and digital transformation Silvia Leal; and the advertising creative executive and founder of the Club de las Malas Madres Laura Baena. Together they’ll discuss techniques to enhance talent, an essential resource for teaching and learning.
