LOS40 announces nominees for the LOS40 Music Awards and reveals details of the music event of the yea

The Florida Retiro in Madrid last night hosted the nominees dinner for this year’s Los40 Music Awards, which will be given out on December 1 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. In addition to announcing the artists and groups competing in the different categories, the radio station also confirmed that Robbie Williams and Michael Bublé will attend and perform at the gala, which is set to be the music event of the year, as the broadcaster celebrates its 50th Anniversary.

 Topping the list of nominees, with four nominations each, are Manuel Carrasco, Enrique Iglesias, Leiva, Adele, Coldplay and Justin Bieber, followed by Dani Martin, Drake, Fangoria, Jennifer Lopez, Love of Lesbian, Morat and Sia, who each have three. With two nominations each are Carlos Vives, David Guetta, J Balvin, Maluma and Miss Caffeina. Finally, and with one nomination each are: U2, Beyonce, Maná, Juanes, OneRepublic, Juan Magan, Pablo Lopez, The Chainsmokers, Lukas Graham, Twenty One Pilots, Sidonie, Supersubmarina, Sidecars, Ana Mena, Marlon, Naughty Boy, Kungs, Nelou and Furious Monkey House.  With Los40 celebrating half a century on air, a new category has been created:  the Golden Music Awards, which this year will pay tribute to the music careers of Robbie Williams, Michael Buble, Juanes, Miguel Bosé, Maná, Shakira and Fangoria. These big names in music have long been part of Los40’s history.

 This edition also sees the debut of two other categories: Best Festival Appearance and the Critics’ Award, aimed at the independent music scene. The public will be voting for the Best Lo + 40 Song, Best Lo + 40 Group or Artist, Best 40 Global Show Song, and Influencer of the Year.

 Voting opens at LOS40.COM on October 6 at  1 pm and will close on November 16 at 11.59 pm. The Los40 Music Awards, which honor the work of the most outstanding artists of the year, are now the leading such prizes in the music industry in Spain and Latin America.

 Uri Sabat, as master of ceremonies, was on hand to unveil the nominees and reveal other surprises for the Los40 Music Awards, with two major additions to the lineup for the Barcelona gala: Michael Bublé and Robbie Williams, who will be joining Maná, J Balvin, Juanes, Jason Derulo, Dani Martin and Leiva on stage.

 The event at the Florida Retiro brought together the entire Los40 team of DJs, presenters and collaborators,  leading figures from the worlds of culture and music, and artists  such as Alex Gonzalez (Maná), Dani Martín, Leiva, David Bisbal, Fangoria, Eva Amaral Pablo López, Carlos Baute and Rosario Flores. Also attending the lively gala dinner  were familiar faces, including actors Monica Cruz, Ana Fernandez, Peter Vives, Kira Miró and Joel Bosqued, theinternational model Cindy Kimberly, designer Carolina Herrera and model and actress Laura Sánchez, who was accompanied by singer David Ascanio.

 Meanwhile, Los40 Music Awards continue  to help good causes. This year, Los40 is lending its support to the AIDS charity Fundación Lucha contra el SIDA, and its campaign aimed at young people, that includes a wide range of initiatives aimed at prevention and awareness of HIV transmission, the first step to eradicating the disease. What’s more, part of the proceeds from the sale of tickets for the awards gala, to be held on December 1 - World AIDS Day - will be donated to the prestigious foundation  founded and chaired by Dr. Bonaventura Clotet. Attending the gala will be Miguel Bosé, ambassador and active collaborator of the foundation and in its fight against AIDS.
