Recording wraps in Mexico for "Welcome to dangerous life", a major Podium Podcast production

The twelve-episode audio series is based on an original script by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, is directed by Guillermo Arriaga, and features the actors Juan Echanove, Rafael Amaya, Cristina Rodlo and Jorge A. Jiménez

Recording wrapped last week at the studios of Radio W in Mexico, a PRISA Radio station, of the audio series "Bienvenido a la vida peligrosa"" (Welcome to dangerous life),  based on an original script by writer Arturo Pérez-Reverte for Podiumpodcast.com, Grupo PRISA’s global network for podcasts in Spanish. The series represents a major commitment by Podiumpodcast.com for the year 2016. The writer, journalist and academic Peréz-Reverte is one of Spain’s top contemporary writer, in terms of both critical renown and sales. He is the author of over 30 books and his works have been successfully adapted into films and television series, such as 'The Queen of the South'.

The 12-episode audio series, directed by Mexican filmmaker and writer Guillermo Arriaga, will be released next November on Podium Podcast and has been recorded using all the latest and highest quality standards. "Welcome to dangerous life" is set to be seen as an overdue revival of the classic genre of radio drama, enhanced with technology and digital broadcasting. And Arriaga is one of the most lauded writers and directors on the current scene. His widely acclaimed scripts include 'Babel',' Amores Perros' and '21 Grams’. As a director, his hits include ‘The Burning Plain’.

"Welcome to dangerous life," executive produced by Mariano Revilla, has brought together a cast of first-rate actors, including the Spaniard Juan Echanove, and the Mexicans Rafael Amaya, Cristina Rodlo, Jorge A. Jimenez, Manuel "Flaco" Ibáñez, Chema Yázpik, Eduardo Yáñez, Aracely Arámbula and Rubén Zamora, among others. The series is set in the imaginary Ciudad Jimenez, in northern Mexico, where a Spanish professor of philosophy gets drawn into the greatest adventure of his life when he accidentally stumbles into the shady and dangerous world of drug trafficking. As the director explains, "we are actually making a movie – just without cameras."

Los Tigres del Norte provide the soundtrack, which will be released in November at the Guadalajara International Book Fair, Mexico.
