Santillana wins silver medal at the Learning Impact Awards 2016 in Texas for technological innovation

On May 26, Santillana was honored in San Antonio, Texas, with the silver medal at the Learning Impact Awards 2016. These are among the most important awards in the world in the area of educational technology. Santillana won the prize in recognition of its US-based program for students of Spanish in 6th to 12th grades, Español Santillana eLearning Center.

The project was developed by Santillana USA for students in 6th to 12th grades in the United States, and is powered by WICCO technology, a cloud-based distribution and content management platform developed by the team at Santillana Technology Network. It enables the  integration of Santillana content on any educational platform.

The Learning Impact Awards are given annually by the IMS Global Learning Consortium, one of the most important non-profits worldwide in educational technology. The award pays tribute to the most important and innovative applications and technological solutions, and their positive impact on learning.

Accepting the award on behalf of Santillana were Jose Malaga, Global Director of Educational Technology, Anne Silva, product manager at Español Santillana, Iñaki Vélez de Guevara, Director of Technology Architecture, and Javier Cabrera, Director of Technology in the US
