A revamped Dalealplay grows hand-in-hand with sports daily AS

26-03-2014

Dalealplay, the benchmark portal in the Spanish audiovisual market, has been totally revamped. The overhaul, the first since its creation in 2006, involves a total redesign of the site to make it cleaner and more streamlined, with video content taking center stage on the browser window. There are also important new features for users, such as improved navigation between videos, the ability to follow other users, and subscriptions to premium channels plus enhanced playlists. From now on, it will be easier for users to find what they want on Dalealplay and to organize their videos ready for viewing automatically. Users can create their own playlists with their own videos, third-party videos or a combination of both.

The new Dalealplay interface displays content in a more central position, to better adapt to any screen or device regardless of size. As well as the portal redesign, international development gathers momentum (in Latin America) and further content will be added.

Dalealplay was the first video portal in Spanish to offer users the ability to view, rate, share, comment and join in groups and content channels for free. Seven years after its launch, Dalealplay has set the standard among audiovisual portals in the Spanish and Latin American markets, as well as in the U.S. Hispanic market. In July 2013, AS and Advernet, owner of Dalealplay, reached a strategic agreement to incorporate the video site, dubbed the Spanish Youtube, to AS’s offer of content.

The video portal Dalealplay currently has nearly two million unique visitors (Comscore, February 2014), making it the third-ranking video portal in Spain in terms of unique users, behind Youtube and Vimeo. The sports daily AS has strengthened its international presence with the launch of AS America in February 2013. Now, in collaboration with Dalealplay (Advernet), and true to its commitment to expand throughout Latin America, AS is preparing to launch Dalealplay in Mexico.
