Antonio Hernández-Rodicio, new director of news services at Cadena SER

Antonio Hernández-Rodicio Romero (Cádiz, 1966), has been appointed director of News Services at Cadena SER. This appointment forms part of the ongoing process of reorganization, modernization and improvement of radio content.

Hernández-Rodicio is a journalist and graduate in Business Management from the Instituto Internacional San Telmo and has spent most of his journalistic career in Grupo Prisa companies. Until now he was editor of El Correo de Andalucía, a position he held since 2005.

Hernández-Rodicio was previously editor in chief of News Services of Cadena SER in Cadiz and a reporter for El Pais in that city. He has also worked at Efe and Europa Press, the weekly paper Tiempo, Andalucia Actualidad, and the Barcelona newspaper El Observador.

He is also a leading opinion piece writer for a number of publications. Over the past five years he has been editor of Los Dialogos de El Correo,  a newspaper forum featuring the most prominent Spanish political and business figures. He is a regular contributor to RTVA debates

Antonio Hernández-Rodicio is replacing Rodolfo Irago, who had headed Cadena SER's News Services since 2004. Since then all the channel's news programs have consolidated their audience-figure lead and prestige. Rodolfo Irago is set to seek new professional projects.
