AS arrives in Colombia

The sports newspaper AS today launched a new website in Colombia, led by journalist Sarah Castro and with daily contributions from Hernán Peláez, the country’s leading sports journalist. The main newsroom is located in Bogota Colombia, on the premises of Caracol Radio, and AS also has offices in Medellin and Cali.

AS Colombia will be showing a firm commitment to local sport. In addition, it will be taking advantage of its wide network of AS newsrooms worldwide to offer readers the most in-depth coverage of international sport. AS Colombia is to focus on the world of football, especially the Liga Águila, the Colombian national team and the most important local sporting events in the country. It also aims to become the go-to website for news on all Colombian athletes competing internationally.

The new site will also include top news and information from all the websites in the AS and ASTV network, with highlights of the Colombian League, La Liga as well as live broadcasts of all major sporting events from around the world.

The sports daily AS Colombia thus consolidates its presence in IberoAmerica, after the launch early last year of AS America, and in October of AS Chile. AS also boasts international editions in Malaysia and Singapore, plus a digital edition in English, AS English.
