Cadena SER confirms its absolute lead with more than 4 million listeners

Cadena SER has confirmed its absolute lead in Spanish radio with 4,677,00 listeners daily, according to official EGM data from the second quarter of 2008.

The figures, from April, May and June, show that SER's programmes remain the most popular nationwide across all the time slots.

Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino, confirms its position as the most-listened-to radio programme in Spain, with 2,772,000 listeners.

SER's news programmes also remain audience leaders. Hora 25 with Angels Barceló has consolidated its lead at night with 1,320.000 listeners. Hora 14, with Jose Antonio Marcos confirms its position as most popular programme in the mid-day news slot with 544,000 listeners.

La Ventana with Gemma Nierga has seen its audience figures rise to 770,000, thus consolidating its lead in the evening slot. El Larguero with Jose Ramón de la Morena confirms its absolute lead among sports programmes, with 1,314,000 listeners.

SER is also audience leader late at night. Hablar por Hablar has 546,000 listeners while Si amanece nos vamos enjoys figures of 184,00.

At the weekend, A Vivir que son dos días, with Montserrat Dominguez, remains audience leader, with 1,772,000 listeners tuning in on Saturdays and 1,262.00 on Sundays.

Carrusel Deportivo, with Paco González and Pepe Domingo Castaño and Manolo Larra is the clear leader in sports programmes at the weekends, with 1,556,000 listeners on Saturdays and 1,677,00 on Sundays.

SER's music programmes are also top of the charts among music stations in Spain

40 Principales remains by far the most popular music radio station in Spain with 3,456,000 listeners. The programme Anda Ya, with Frank Blanco, reaches more than 2 million listeners, making it the second-most-listened-to show in Spain.

Cadena Dial, meanwhile, ranks second among music stations, with 1,487,000 listeners; M80 reaches 534,000 listeners; and Máxima FM beats its own record with 384,000. Radio Olé has an audience of 416,00.
