Cadena SER hits the five million mark

Cadena SER confirms its absolute lead and now has more listeners than than all of its three closest competitors combined. All of SER's programs have seen audience growth and are now market leaders in their time slots across the board. Each and every program beats each of its rivals combined.

Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino, has been a huge success and confirms its position as the most-listened-to radio program in Spain, with 2,955,000 listeners. It has gained 234,000 listeners since the last quarter of 2008.

Hora 25, with Angels Barcelo, has also beaten records with a listenership of 1,624,000, 148,000 of those new. Hora 14, has also seen growth and now has 600,000 listeners. El Larguero, with Jose Ramón de la Morena, has seen a spectacular boost: up 264,000 new listeners to over 1.5 million listeners daily. That's five times more than its nearest rival in the sports program sector. La Ventana, with Gemma Nierga, is also up and now reaches almost 800,000 listeners daily.

SER is also clear leader in the late-night slot. Hablar por hablar, with Macarena Berlín, clocked up 579,000 listeners, 154,000 more than in the last EGM audit. Si amanece nos vamos with Roberto Sánchez now reaches 205,000 listeners - up 88.000.

SER also enjoys a clear lead at the the weekend. A vivir que son dos días, with Montserrat Dominguez, has seen audiences climb by 2000,000 to 1,871,000 on Saturday, with figures of 1,363,000 on Sunday. Carrusel Deportivo, with Paco González and Pepe Domingo Castaño and Manolo Larra, remains unrivalled at 1,885,000 listeners on Saturday and 2,042,000 on Sunday. Milenio 3, with Iker Jiménez has also seen growth and is at 696,000 listeners, while Los Toros, with Manolo Moles is top of the charts late on Sundays with 571,000 listeners.

Los 40 Principales has enjoyed unprecedented growth, hitting the four-million mark, thus breaking its own record and consolidating itself as Spain's second-most listened-to radio station. Its daytime program Anda Ya, with Fran Blanco, is up by 500,000 listeners and now has an audience of 2,309,00, making it the second-most listened-to radio program in Spain, beaten only by Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino.

All SER's music stations have seen audiences rise. Cadena Dial is the second-most popular music radio station with 1,770,000 listeners. M80 enjoys an audience of 632,.000 (up 72.000). Radiolé has 51,.000 (up 25,000) and Máxima FM consolidates its upward trend with a record 525,000 listeners (up 67,000).
