Cadena SER remains Spain’s top-ranking station in audience figures

 Cadena SER is set to close the year with audience-figure growth, thus consolidating its bsolute lead in Spanish radio with 4,819,000 listeners tuning in daily, according to third round figures from auditing body EGM (Estudio General de Medios) corresponding to the third and fourth quarters of 2009.

Cadena SER thus begins its sixteenth consecutive season as Spain's top-ranking station, with its figure beating the sum total of its three nearest rivals.

Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino, is once again the most-listened-to radio program in Spain, with 2,716,000 listeners.

La Ventana, with Gemma Nierga, has seen its audience figure grow and now reaches 806,000 listeners daily.

El Larguero, with Jose Ramón de la Morena, enters the new season as absolute leader among night-time sports programs, with 1,387,000 listeners.

Cadena SER's news programs remain audience-share leaders. Hora 25, with Àngels Barceló, has seen its audience figures grow by 100,000 listeners and consolidates its top-ranking position in the evenings with 1,460,000 listeners. Hora 14, with José Antonio Marcos, has also seen growth and is the lunchtime news leader.

SER also rules the airwaves in the late-night slot

Hablar por Hablar, with Macarena Berlín, posted figures of 540,000 listeners and Si amanece nos vamos, with Roberto Sánchez, had 167,000 listeners.

SER is also audience leader at weekends

A Vivir que son dos días, with Monserrat Dominguez, has seen audience figures climb on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's figure is up 100,000 to 1,662,000 listeners, and Sunday's figure is up 130,000 to 1,503,000.

Carrusel Deportivo with Paco Gonzalez, Pepe Domingo Castaño and Manolo Lama, kicks off the season in spectacular form: Saturday's audience figures are up 447,000 to a total of 2,254,000 listeners, while Sunday's figure is up 300,000, over the previous EGM figure, to a total of 2,201,000.

Milenio 3, with Iker Jiménez is at 454,000 listeners, while Los Toros, with Manolo Moles, is number one late on Sundays with 454,000 listeners.

Music stations

Cadena SER's music stations have also posted buoyant results and remain Spain's audience leaders.

40 principales has seen audience figures grow by 258,000 listeners and now reaches 3,654,000 listeners. Cadena Dial has also seen significant growth. It hit a record audience figure of 1,964,000 listeners, up 200,000. M-80 has 550,000 listeners.

Radiolé, with 496,000 listeners, is the top-ranking Spanish popular music station, while  Máxima FM, with 568,000 listeners, is Spain's most popular dance music station.
