Cadena SER’s El Larguero wins the University of Salamanca Communication Award

Cadena SER's sports program El Larguero has been honored with the María Teresa Aubach Communication Award in the category for Journalism. "This award recognizes the program's unique approach to sport and its commitment to broadcasting sport over two decades." The program's mix of humor and its Foundation, which fosters the positive values of sport, were among the factors highlighted by the jury, made up of academics, students and staff at the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (UPSA).

The María Teresa Aubach Awards were established during the academic year 2008-2009 in honor of the first deacon of the Faculty of Communications and are aimed at recognizing "good professional practice" in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations.

The award, a statuette designed by the Salamancan sculptor Gerardo González, will be given out during the Faculty's annual celebrations on the 11 and 12 of March.

The TV series, Cuéntame cómo pasó, byTelevisión Española, and the advertising campaign Ponle Freno, from Grupo Antena 3 TV, were also among the winners.
