CANAL+ notches up 63 nominations for the 2010 Golden Globes

CANAL+ leads the pack in the race for this year's Golden Globes. The channel has a total of 63 nominations for the prestigious Hollywood awards that honor the best of film and television. CANAL + has this year obtained the highest number of nominations ever in the channel's history, and is once again the Spanish channel with the most nominations.

The 63 nominations are spread across film and television categories. For film, CANAL + has obtained 45 nominations across 18 titles. While for TV, CANAL + has 18 nominations spread over 9 titles.

Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and Temple Grandin have received three nominations each. Mad Men (whose fourth season airs next Saturday, December 18) is up for three Golden Globe Awards: Best Series, Best Actress (Elizabeth Moss) and best actor (Jon Hamm). Boardwalk Empire (the Martin Scorsese production for HBO recently premiered on CANAL +) is also nominated for three awards: Best Series, Best Actor (Steve Buscemi) and Best Actress (Kelly McDonald). The Pacific is a nominee for best miniseries.

The category for television movies includes Temple Grandin (an HBO production broadcast on CANAL + from October) which is nominated for three awards in the following categories: TV movie, actress (Claire Danes) and actor (David Strathairn). Also competing are The Special Relationship (broadcast on Canal + from September and with two nominations, for actor and actress) and You Don't Know Jack (on CANAL + since November, and with two nominations - for television film and film actor).

The King's Speech, The Social Network and Inception are the CANAL + movies that have had the most nominations in the film category.

CANAL + will broadcast the Golden Globes live and exclusively on Sunday January 16 from 2am.
