New Website

Cinco Dias, new look, more content

Spain’s veteran business and finance newspaper is launching a new-look website. The revamped Cinco Dias web portal goes live today. The updated site is more dynamic and social, and is expanding its range of content and tools for analyzing stock markets.

The Cinco Dias brand sets the standard for business and financial journalism in Spain. The CincoDías portal now loses the dotcom that has accompanied the paper’s website since its launch in 1998 in a bid to better integrate the editorial teams and their day-to-day work, regardless of the media outlet: print, computer, mobile or tablet.

The new Cinco Dias portal brings users market news via new tools and more specialized content. In collaboration with HP, users can now more easily access from the homepage movements in the equity markets and the companies listed, as well as currencies and commodities. It prioritizes the latest news, by giving it a prominent place at the top of the page and readers can keep up to date through the Twitter account  @bolsatiemporeal.

The new Cinco Dias website is also a social network platform that encourages and enables users to share their opinions and participate on a daily basis, instantly integrating them with other social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google and LinkedIn.

Expert opinion and the journalists’ views will have greater visibility on the new website thanks to blogs, which move from their previous location to a more prominent space. The editorial team is launching new business and finance blogs, such as ContanteySonante, by Angeles Gonzalo focused on news from the financial sector, and the promising  PuntoBásico, by Pablo Martin Simon, Gema Escribano and David Perez, which will analyse the markets, listed companies and financial assets: essential reading for navigating the turbulent waters of the financial markets. There will also be sections on health and entertainment, and existing sections are to be greatly improved.

The look and feel of Cinco Dias is crucial, and the user experience is enhanced by videos and computer graphics, providing users with in-depth news across all our media platforms, and that will add to the financial tools and advice already offered by the portal.
