Digital+, in which PRISA TV holds a 56% stake, today unanimously approved the composition of its new Board of Directors. It's the first time Telefonica Contenidos and Gestevision Telecinco are to be represented on the board, with both companies holding a 22% stake each in the company. Board members are:
The Board also approved the composition of the Executive Committee, which will include Manuel Polanco Moreno, Pedro García Guillén, Fernando Martínez Albacete, Ángel Vilá Boix and Massimo Musolino.
The pay TV platform closed 2010 with a net increase in the number of subscribers in the last quarter. Subscriber base was up by more than 50% in 2010. This success is no doubt due to the quality of the Canal + stable of channels and the company's commitment to technology.
This year kicked off with the launch of the new iplus. This decoder allows subscribers to access the best available TV in Spain, with 20 channels in HD, as well as 3D broadcasts. It also enables them to customize their TV schedules, letting them program what they want to see when they want to see it.
