El País reaches 380,336 copies in April

El País closed the month of April with an average daily circulation of 380,336 copies, reconfirming its absolute lead among the non-giveaway press. With these latest figures, the average accumulated figure for the first four months of 2009, stands at 406,424 copies.

The circulation figures, provided by the auditing body OJD (pending certification), give El País a lead of 80,000 copies over its nearest competitor.

Among the sports papers, As had an accumulated figure of 210,270 at the end of April and a market share of 45%, according to the OJD. As widens its lead in the Madrid region, with 60,193 copies -a lead of 15,000 over its competitor. It also beats its nearest rival in 13 provinces: Almeria, Jaen, Málaga, Avila, Segovia, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo, Barcelona, Tarragona, Badajoz and Caceres.
