El País to host the forum 'Investing in Peru'

24-06-2013

The newspapers El País and La República are to host a day-long forum which will see leading experts discuss business opportunities in Peru and the reasons for growth and expansion along the central axis of the Pacific Alliance.

Despite the global economic slump, Peru continues to advance and consolidate its position  among the fastest growing economies in Latin America. Political stability, development in infrastructure and services, legal certainty and fiscal flexibility are among the factors that have consolidated Peru as a major investment destination for global companies.

The forum will be opened by Javier Moreno, executive editor of El País and the president of La Republica, Gustavo Mohme. The keynote inaugural speech will be given by Ollanta Humala, president of Peru, who will be introduced by Juan Luis Cebrian, president of El País. Hasan Tuluy, vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean at the World Bank, will deliver the closing speech. The event will also be joined by Susana Villarán de la Puente, mayor of Lima, as well as other leading politicians, business figures and journalists.

The event will take place at the Hotel Country Club Lima (Los Eucaliptos 590, San Isidro, Lima 27, Peru) and can be followed via streaming at www.elpais.com as well as on Eskup, El País’s social network, and Twitter.
