El País and Cadena SER are the preferred choice of news media for Spaniards

Cadena SER and El País are the top choice for current affairs among Spaniards according to a survey carried out by the Spanish Center for Sociological Research (Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas- CIS)

17.8% of those polled said that Cadena SER was their favorite radio station for keeping up-to-date on political developments. Next was Onda Cero (8.4%), Cadena Cope (5.4%) and Radio 1 (5.3%).

Among newspapers, El País topped the poll, with 15.2%, followed by El Mundo (9.3%), El Periódico (5.7%), La Vanguardia (4.2%), La Voz de Galicia (3.6%) and Abc (3.5%). 

And among TV stations, free-to-view channel Cuatro was chosen by 5.9% of viewers, ahead of Canal Sur (2.8%) and La Sexta (2.2%). TVE1 was the most voted in this category, with 30%.

75.5% of Spaniards listen to or watch the news on radio or television every day. On the other hand, 70.1% say they never use the internet for current affairs and news.
