El País closes January-October with figures of 414,230 copies

El País has consolidated its position as Spain's leading daily paper in Spain in October with an average daily circulation figure of 414,230 copies, according to data from the auditing bureau OJD (Oficina de Justificación de la Difusión). The newspaper has widened its lead over its nearest competitor to 120,000 copies. Sales figures for Sunday have reached 671,897.

Among the sports press,  As continues to see its circulation rise for the period January-October, according to the OJD. Overall, the figure is up 1.66 percent, or 3,488 copies daily. The accumulated average is 211,014 copies, with the paper performing particularly well in the Madrid region, where As has been market leader since 2006.
