Grupo PRISA sees continued internet growth

Latest auditing figures from Nielsen Netview confirm Grupo PRISA's online growth, with the Group's web sites among the top-ranking sites in Spain. In March, more than 9.5 million unique users visited one of Gripo PRISA's online sites, representing an 8% rise over the figure for the same period last year and 3% growth for internet market share.

ElPaís.com, the Group's flagship site, saw an increase of 300,000 users as compared to the previous month, a rise of 6% - 2% more than elmundo.es and 4% more than 20minutos.es.

The Group's sports portal As.com saw excellent results in March, hitting a new record 3,6 million users, 38% up on the same month last year and 22% higher than the figure for Marca.com. As.com's figure was up 12.5% over February's figure, while its main rival grew just 5%.

CincoDías.com, meanwhile, enjoyed the second highest rise in its sector, with a 32% climb as compared to last year, reaching 889,000 unique users in March.

The Group's other online platforms have also consolidated their positions. Cuatro.com had a figure of 1,5 million users; Cadenaser.com, almost a million; Los40.com , a million; and Plus.es, 776,000 unique users.

Nielsen Netview's figures are compiled using figures  supplied by our internet users, who have installed software that tracks their browsing  habits both at home and at work. The figure for unique users is obtained after eliminating the figure for duplicate users.
