Grupo Santillana reorganizes management to strengthen its lead and commitment to digital businesses

With a view to consolidating and increasing its lead in the education and general publishing markets in Spanish and Portuguese, Grupo Santillana is speeding up its transformation into a technology and educational services company. To this end, the group is undertaking the following changes to its organizational model:

A new Grupo Santillana Digital Business Division has been created, headed by Miguel Barrero, who will oversee all digital development within the group. Reporting to the CEO, Miguel Ángel Cayuela, this division will work in coordination with the Education Division.

In recent years, Miguel Barrero acted as Managing Director of Santillana España and as Managing Director of the group's Education Division. He holds a degree in Pedagogy and a Masters in Education and New Technologies.

Francisco Cuadrado has been named Managing Director of the Education Division at Grupo Santillana. He holds a degree in Economics and an MBA, and has wide-ranging experience in management in the Americas. He previously held the post of Managing Director of Santillana in Colombia and of General Publishing for the group.

Fernando Esteves Fros has been appointed Managing Director of General Publishing at Grupo Santillana. Till now he has held the post of Managing Director of General Publishing for the North American region. He has a degree in Political Science and an MBA.

Christopher West has been appointed Managing Director of Grupo Santillana's Languages Division. Mr West has wide-ranging experience in the language and education markets in Latin America, where he worked as CEO of Macmillan. He holds a degree in Languages.
