Iñaki Gabilondo wins the Catalan Blanquerna prize

28-09-2010

The Catalan regional government (Generalitat de Cataluña) has awarded the prestigious Premio Blanquerna prize to the journalist Iñaki Gabilondo in recognition of his career and his respect for Catalonia. The president of the Catalan government, José Montilla, will present the journalist with the award, now in its eighth year, on October 18 at Madrid's Circulo de Bellas Artes.

The jury praised Gabilondo - who now works at CNN+ - "for his career and flair as well as his respectful attitude towards Catalonia and his thoughtful and open-minded outlook on relations within Spain", according to the Catalan regional authority.

The Generalitat, through its offices in Madrid, gives out the Premio Blanquerna award every year to honor those individuals or organizations that have distinguished themselves in their relations with Cataluña.
