Jury announces the Premios Ondas award-winners 2008

The jury for the 55th annual Premios Ondas awards announced the prize-winners at a press conference in the Sala Domènech i Montaner at the Hotel Casa Fuster in Barcelona last Wednesday, October 29. Over 800 nominees from 26 countries were in the running for the awards, which are the most prestigious in Spain and which are supported by the European Broadcasting Union.

The awards, created in 1954 with the goal of recognizing the endeavors of companies, productions and professional careers in radio, television and radio advertising, are spread across 23 categories.

The 55th Annual Premios Ondas Awards Ceremony will take place at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (La Rambla, 51) on Thursday, November 20. The gala ceremony will be presented by Carles Francino and Gemma Nierga and will be broadcast by Cuatro.

A novelty of this year's ceremony will be the Dewar's Character Award, given to the personality from the audiovisual judged to have the most outstanding "character" as voted by the public.  The nominees are Pablo Motos, Jesús Vázquez and Rosario Flores.
