'Kiosko y más' receives the Award for Innovation in Publishing in the digital category

28-10-2011

The digital multiplatform Kiosko y más, pioneered by Vocento and PRISA, and now involving over 15 media groups, has been awarded the Award for Innovation in Publishing in the digital sector category. The Ecomm Awards Duo 2011 have thus paid tribute to the platform just three months after its launch.

Kiosko y más offers readers over 30 newspapers and 60 magazines. With this service, newspapers like EL PAÍS can be viewed in their original print format through electronic devices. Readers accustomed to newspaper columns will find no difference with a print copy. All pages are adapted for the electronic screen, and readers can expand the font size to their liking, navigate to different sections of the paper, stop at any article, share it on social networks, and e-mail or print it through a wireless network. In short, readers enter a whole new dimension.

This publishing alliance is unprecedented in Europe and involves media giants such as  PRISA, Vocento, Heraldo, La Información, La Voz, Intereconomía, Godó, Zeta, Última Hora, Axel Springer, RBA, América Ibérica and G+J. Kiosko y más is available in Android and Apple online stores, allowing readers to access their favorite newspapers and magazines wherever, however and whenever they want.

In addition to EL PAÍS, PRISA Group also offers on this virtual newsstand the sports daily As, the business and finance daily Cinco Dias and magazines Claves, Gentleman, Rolling Stone, Car, Cinemanía and Los 40 Principales. All these publications are part of "the simplest and most versatile platform" on the market, which brings the best of the print reading experience to the digital world, according to its backers.

Kiosko y mas allows readers to make their own catalog of publications, thus adjusting the price. They can purchase individual copies or subscriptions (monthly or annually). Each publication includes all supplements and editions. For joint purchases of two or more publications, readers get a discount of 50%. Each issue of EL PAÍS can be purchased for 0.79 euros, with a monthly subscription costing 9.99 euros. The same rates apply to PRISA daily papers As and Cinco Días, while magazines Car, Rolling Stone and Cinemanía cost 2.99 euros per month, Gentleman, 3.99 and Claves, 6.99.

Selected publications can be received on electronic devices just two hours after going to press. Readers merely have to go to the app store and download the free application Kiosko y más. The screen then lights up with the platform's well-stocked newsstand.
