PRISA Media creates a new Sports Division to drive its transformation strategy

  • PRISA Media has established a new Sports Division, bringing together sports newspaper AS and the company’s sports news brands in Spain and the Americas under a unified, cross-platform structure led by Aloysio Araujo.


As Managing Director of Sports, Araujo will oversee the evolution of PRISA Media’s sports business and content strategy. His remit includes adapting output across all distribution channels, attracting and retaining new audiences, and developing monetization models that foster synergies and ensure the long-term sustainability of PRISA Media’s sports content and communities within the wider news and entertainment ecosystem.

An engineer by training, Araujo joined Unidad Editorial in 2006, where he went on to serve as Managing Director of Marca and Radio Marca. During his tenure, he led the transformation of the sports daily and its international expansion in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and the United States, supported by a strategic alliance with América Móvil. After five years at Vocento, he joined PRISA Media in June 2025 as Director of Projects.
