01-06-2015

CNBC, the TV channel specialized in business and finance reporting, and PRISA NOTICIAS have signed a partnership agreement which will make the TV network’s content available to readers of El Pais and Cinco Días. CNBC will produce short-form videos, subtitled in Spanish, and which will be hosted on the homepages of various PRISA NOTICIAS online properties,

CNBC SVP of International News & Programming John Casey commented: “We are delighted to enter this partnership, which allows CNBC to serve the Spanish speaking business community, not only in Spain, but also in Latin America where PRISA publications and their websites have a strong following. Spanish is the world’s second most widely spoken language and, in its ambition to provide quality news to business audiences worldwide, CNBC is seizing the opportunity to tailor its innovative digital content to this important market.

Manuel Mirat, CEO of PRISA NOTICIAS, hailed the agreement as "a great opportunity to increase our offer of news and information. Quality news and video are the two basic pillars of PRISA NOTICIAS’s strategy. This partnership with CNBC will allow us to offer our readers premier financial and business news in audiovisual format, which will complement what’s already offered by EL PAÍS and CINCO DÍAS. This deal with the prestigious CNBC network is also a sign of the strength of our brands globally."

At least five CNBC videos each day will be subtitled and made available through this deal, which also includes co-branding commitments and opportunities for further collaboration in the future.
