Santillana joins Chilean business community to support Early Childhood initiatives

Thursday, October 11 saw the first meeting of Entrepreneurs for Early Childhood, an initiative supported by companies such as Arauco, Banco Santander, Sodimac, Telefonica, Unilever and Santillana. This initiative is led by Luz Marina Trujillo, head of institutional projects.

Business leaders at the inaugural meeting of the Entrepreneurs for Early Childhood group included the Executive Director of the Fundación Integra, Sergio Dominguez; the president of Arauco, José Tomás Guzmán; the director of Banco Santander, Lucia Santa Cruz Sutil; the Managing Director of Santillana, Mauricio Montenegro; the head of Social Responsibility at Sodimac, Juan Carlos Corvalan; the president of Telefónica Chile, Claudio Muñoz; and the General Manager of Unilever, Sebastian Wodka.

The initiative, which has the support of UNICEF, OAS and OEI, seeks to coordinate private sector input into the educational quality of kindergartens and nurseries and highlight their vital role for the future of the country.
