SER, Spain's leading radio broadcaster with 4.7 million listeners

Cadena SER is the most listened to radio station in Spain for the sixteenth consecutive season and has more listeners than its three private-sector competitors combined.

Cadena SER has kicked off the year as the absolute leader in the radio-broadcast sector in Spain with 4,700,000 listeners daily, Monday through Friday according to the results from auditing body EGM for the first quarter of 2010.

All SER programs are clear leaders in their respective slots.

Hoy por Hoy, with Carles Francino, is the most listened to radio program in Spain with 2,721,000 listeners daily.

La Ventana, with Gemma Nierga strengthens its lead in the evening slot with 818,000 listeners, Monday to Friday.

El Larguero, with José Ramón de la Morena is the top-ranking nightly sports program, with 1,261,000 listeners tuning in every day.

SER's news programs are Spain's most popular. Hora 25, anchored by Angels Barceló, is the top-ranking evening current affairs program with 1,306,000 listeners Monday to Friday. Hora 14, with José Antonio Marcos, is the Number 1 midday news program with 543,000 listeners.

SER's morning programs are also clear leaders. Hablar por Hablar, with Macarena Berlin, has 512,000 listeners daily and Si amanece nos vamos, with Roberto Sanchez, 166,000.

At the weekend, SER also consolidates its position. 1.5 million listeners spend the weekend with Montserrat Dominguez on A Vivir que son dos días, on Saturdays and Sundays.

Carrusel Deportivo remains unrivaled in the weekend afternoon sporting slot with nearly 2 million listeners on Saturdays and 2,300,000 on Sundays.

Weekend news programs, anchored by Jesus Angel Cintora, are also in the lead. Los Toros, with Manolo Moles, and Milenio 3, with Iker Jiménez, have also seen audience figures rise in their slots.

SER's music channels have maintained their lead at a national level: 40 Principales is the country's leading music station with 3,623,000 listeners; its morning show, Anda Ya, is once again the second most listened to radio show in Spain with an audience of 1,870,000.

Cadena Dial continued to see its figures climb, with 2 million listeners every day. Its morning program Atrévete for the first time passed the million-listener mark. Máxima FM keeps breaking records and reaches 594,000 fans; M-80 has 524,000 listeners and Radiolé  is Spain's biggest popular and folk music broadcaster, with 477,000 listeners.
