Tareas y más (Homework and more), the first study-aid website created by Santillana

15-10-2012

If your child is perplexed by the hypotenuse, confounded by the apothem and plain confused by photosynthesis, Santillana is now offering the perfect antidote: Tareas y más (Homework and more).

Every day thousands of children sit down to do their homework, to study or simply enjoy the pleasure of discovering new ideas. Tareas y más (Homework and more), which marks Santillana’s first foray into offering educational services in the home, is set to meet the demands of parents and children who are looking online for answers to crucial educational doubts.

The website, adapted for computers and mobile devices, offers over 6000 resources designed by Santillana and is being rolled out with content for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Spanish Language aimed at Primary and Secondary school students. Users can view video tutorials, articles, photographs, graphics and manuals, participate in forums created and run by the online community and take self-assessment tests that measure performance.

The platform is offering free access for seven days starting Monday, October 15, allowing users to view over 1000 video tutorials created by teachers --  multimedia content with a maximum duration of five minutes.

Users can also avail of personal attention from teachers specialized in each area, who’ll be available to resolve, online, any doubts that students might have.

Thanks to Tareas y más, students will achieve better academic results and will save on time and travel costs involved in face-to-face tutorials, obtaining vital study support seven days a week at any time of day and from anywhere.

The subscription model is of 1, 3 or 10 months. Users get a credit of four monthly consultations with a specialist teacher, that may be expanded if required.

"The Internet is an amazing resource where almost everything is available, but it doesn’t always meet the expectations and needs of the student," says Miguel Barrero, head of new digital businesses at Santillana. "We wanted to channel, organize and professionalize our children’s quest for knowledge, ensuring they have access to quality content produced and distributed by Santillana. It is a commitment to service to the educational community and a powerful tool that reinforces and supports study,” he added.

Tareas y más, which is operational from Monday, October 15, is a Santillana product, oriented towards supporting study. Explanatory videos are available at www.tareasymas.es
