The AS Guide to the League for the 2014-2015 season is now available free at Google Play and App Store

14-08-2014

With the BBVA Liga 2014-15 kicking off on August 23, sports daily AS is launching its new app, Guide to the League (Guía de la Liga). Building on the solid success of last season, which saw the app ranked Number One among paid applications, the AS Guide to the League, the pioneering football app, is now available for free at Google Play and App Store.

With a new design and more seamless, intuitive navigation, the app provides information on the Liga BBVA, the Liga Adelante, the Copa del Rey, the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 as well as the major continental competitions: Champions League and Europa League.

The Guide to the League app brings the show Carrusel en directo  to mobiles and tablets  -- complete with improved live broadcasts, and information on schedules and TV broadcasters, scores and results, standings, team details, kit, history, staff, statistics, squad, player profiles with stats, awards, and a player comparison function with data from the past ten seasons. It also lets users view the numbers behind the big transfers of the summer: Kroos, James, Luis Suarez, Bravo, Griezmann, Mandzukic as well as those in the pipeline; and the app compares the performance of Cristiano and Messi in recent seasons and analyzes whether the statistics bear out the standings of Iker Casillas and Keylor Navas.

The Guide to the League data is updated automatically: the latest transfers and signings, departures of coaches and changes during the winter transfer window. Users will also be able to view the AS points index before anywhere else.

To celebrate the World Cup in Brazil, AS previously launched the App Mundial, which exceeded 200,000 downloads in a week, despite the disappointing performance of the Spanish team. AS’s app has clocked up over 1 million downloads between Android and IOS. The new Guide to the League app is thus a yet another demonstration of the  sports newspaper’s firm commitment to improving its digital offer -- and is the perfect complement to the traditional print-format Guide to the League, which will be available on newsstands when the transfer window closes on September 1.
