The Fundación Santillana, the Fundación General of the UIMP and the Monterrey Institute of Technology have established a Masters in Ibero-American Journalism

The Rector of the Monterrey Tec, Rafael Rangel Sostmann, the President of the Fundación Santillana, Ignacio Polanco, and the rector of the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, Salvador Ordonez, in his capacity as President of the Fundación General of the UIMP, have today signed a collaboration agreement between the three entities, whose main objective is the design and implementation of an MA in Ibero-American Journalism, which will be provided entirely over the Internet. The ceremony was also attended by Juan Luis Cebrian, chairman of the Executive Committee and CEO of PRISA, and Emiliano Martinez, president of Grupo Santillana.

The Fundación Santillana and the Fundación UIMP signed a framework agreement in June 2009 with the aim of developing cultural, educational and academic activities of interest to both institutions, preferably in the Ibero-American area. Among these activities is the Narrative and Journalism Seminar (www.seminariodenarrativayperiodismo.com), which brings together at Santander UIMP, international specialists to provide classes. Subsequent audiovisual material is then used the Monterrey Tec for their journalism classes.

With this latest agreement, the Monterrey Tec is set to continue collaborating with both foundations with the aim of running programs and activities that will result in the better use of resources by each of the three institutions, beginning with the Masters in Latin American Journalism.

Monterrey Tec is committed to innovation, creativity, the use of technology and entrepreneurship. It has 33 campuses located throughout Mexico and is present in several countries through liaison offices and a Virtual University.

The Fundación General of the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) has a number of cooperation agreements aimed at furthering the UIMP's mission. To this end it supports activities that foster the dissemination of culture and science, the promotion of the exchange of scientific and cultural information of international and interregional interest, and the development of research activity and expertise. 

The Fundación Santillana is a private non-profit organization aimed at promoting education, scientific research and the dissemination of culture. It is active within a broad framework of cooperation, both nationally and internationally, with particular attention to the Ibero-American world.
