The IDB and the Fundación Santillana sign collaboration agreement

[ES][OR] El BID y la Fundación Santillana firman un acuerdo de colaboraciónThe agreement signed by Ignacio Polanco, president of the Fundación Santillana, and Luis Alberto Moreno, president of the Inter-American Development Bank, is aimed at promoting collaboration between the two organizations to develop activities that will improve the quality of education in Latin America, increase the competitiveness and development of the region, and oversee activities such as the preparation and dissemination of studies, reports and research.

The agreement also includes promoting and joint participation in the organization of conferences, forums, debates, and similar activities, in the areas of education and culture, as  well as the running of initiatives that will stimulate, recognize and disseminate innovation in education, and the development and testing of new methodologies and teaching resources.

The Inter-American Development Bank is an international organization whose mission is to help promote the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean, both individually and collectively, primarily through strategies of technical and financial support by granting credits targeted primarily in the areas of basic social development: education, health, infrastructure, etc.. It is headquartered in Washington and has offices in almost all countries in the region. It recently opened its European headquarters in Madrid.

The Fundación Santillana is committed to improving the quality of education in the Americas and Spain, through initiatives that promote growth, the exchange and transfer of knowledge in the field of education, and communication, guided by the principle that education is a key factor for growth, development and social cohesion.
