31-01-2014

The UAM-EL PAÍS School of Journalism is launching a new initiative on February 22, a: series of workshops on specialized journalism. The short courses will be led by outstanding professionals and aimed at anyone interested in journalism in its many facets, whether they be students or professionals of any background. The workshops will take place on weekends.

The workshops will be held at the headquarters of the School in Madrid (Miguel Yuste, 40) and will follow the same methodology as the 28-year-old Masters program, ie, they will be eminently practical and personalized, with a limited number of places.

The first workshop is on photojournalism and will be led by Raúl Cancio, winner of the National Journalism Award. He’ll be joined by Marisa Flórez, former EL PAÍS graphics editor, and Gorka Lejarcegi, winner of the Ortega y Gasset Prize. The second workshop, which takes place on Fridays and Saturdays in March, will address four ways to conduct interviews. It will be led by Juan Cruz, writer and journalist, and also feature renowned interviewers such as Pepa Bueno, anchor of Hoy por Hoy broadcast by radio network Cadena SER, Antonio San José, anchor of CNN+’s Cara a cara, Juan José Lucas, who anchored RNE’s En mañanas como ésta, and Maria Casado, current anchor of TVE’s Desayunos.
