Two series of EL PAÍS reports win two Gabo Prizes

Frontera sur, produced in collaboration with the newspaper El Faro, from El Salvador, has been awarded in the category for Best Coverage, while Defensores de la Selva has been awarded in the Image category.

The Gabo Foundation -an institution created in 1995 by journalist and Nobel Laureate Gabriel García Márquez- has awarded two series of reports published in EL PAÍS. Frontera Sur. La frontera desconocida de América(Southern Border: America’s Unknown Border), produced in collaboration with El Faro newspaper, from El Salvador, has won the Best Coverage category. Defensores de la Selva (Rainforest Defenders), published in the Planeta Futurosection, has won first prize in the Image category. The awards were announced in the early morning of last Friday (Spain local time), in a virtual ceremony.
