Portuguese soap drama Ouro Verde has won the International Emmy Award in the Best Telenovela category.
It’s the second time that Plural and TVI have bagged the award – given by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in recognition of the best television programs produced and distributed outside the United States.
With this latest gong, Plural is the second most awarded producer in the International Emmy Awards Telenovela category. It’s also most nominated production company in Europe.
Screenwriter Maria João Costa, showrunner Hugo de Sousa, and stars Joana de Verona and Helena Forjaz picked up the prize at the awards gala held in New York.
