40 Principales Primavera Pop 2012 a complete success

28-05-2012

More than 10,000 people vibrated last Friday in Madrid´s Vistalegre Palace while welcoming the springtime along with their favorite pop artists. Primavera Pop 2012, organized by Spain´s main musical radio station, 40 Principales, gathered yet another year around performances by some of the best artists from in and outside Spain. This megaconcert was organized to help those most in need and  therefore the profits went directly to the NGO Solidaridad Internacional in order to finance the construction of a school for displaced children in Colombia.

The DJs Edu Naranjo and Álvaro Reina warmed things up before the concert started, making the thousands of audience members dance while waiting outside the Palace. At 7 PM the much awaited moment arrived and the party finally began with Sak Noel as the first to perform. Then the MC Tony Aguilar officially inaugurated the festival in that way he only knows how and introduced one of this year´s discoveries: Ed Sheeran, who performed the touching song The A Team. Other artists included Macaco, Amna, who surprised the audience with her spectacular staging, and Carlos Jean, accompanied by El Pescao, Nana and Lucía Scansetti & Alex Shaker. After them it was then turn for Melendi, Calle París, Antonio Orozco, Alexandra Stan and The Monomes. One especially memorable performance was Paulina Rubio´s, drowning the Vistalegre Palace with glitter, making this Primavera Pop something worth remembering. In every moment she was accompanied by her dancers while singing the worldwide hit Boys will be boys.

However the night was not yet over and Amaia Montero, Cover Drive, Despistaos, Juan Magan and Chila Lynn were still to sing. Before coming to an end, Tony Aguilar introduced the Russian sensation group Serebro. After their lively song, the audience then enjoyed the puertorican rythms of Sie7e. That´s when Georgina, Xuxo Jones and José de Rico and Henry Méndez performed. The culmination of the night was yet to come and Cali y el Dandee made Vistalegre vibrate with their top hit Yo te esperaré, a beat of explosive energy that made for a perfect ending to yet another 40 Principales´ springtime celebration.
