Alejandro Nieto is named new Managing Director of Business Strategy and Corporate Development of PRISA Radio

Alejandro Nieto Molina has been appointed Managing Director of Business Strategy and Corporate Development of PRISA Radio. Alejandro Nieto takes responsibility for all PRISA Radio strategic projects, new business development, and will oversee, alongside the Digital team, the digital transformation of PRISA Radio.

Alejandro Nieto, born in Bogotá (Colombia) in 1968, is a journalist and an industrial engineer (Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota). Since 1993, when he created and directed "La Mega", a  pop and rock music format in Colombia, his professional career has always been closely linked to radio. At Radio Caracol, he directed music and news programs. He presented the lunchtime news program and worked on the Colombian Hoy por Hoy with Dario Arizmendi until 2003, when he was appointed deputy manager of programming at Radio Caracol. Two years later, he moved to the USA to work on the expansion of PRISA Radio as vice president of Programming, and, after 2006 he led the project 'Una solo radio… de ida y vuelta '. He oversaw the development of a range of shared radio products (Hora 25 Global, Elections USA, Carrusel Mundial) and was key to the establishment of a radio model that is now embraced by all PRISA spoken-word broadcasters. In December 2010, he moved to Spain as Managing Director of Cadena SER; during his tenure there he oversaw a major overhaul of the organizational structure, spearheaded the shift to the digital world, and was instrumental in changing programming at Cadena SER and its music stations.
